Project management

Gantt chart template for Excel and Google Sheets

Enter your projects and tasks once, with a start date, an end date and % done. The Gantt chart draws itself, and the dashboard, team workload, milestones and status report fill in from the same data. No macros, no add-ins and no subscription.

What the tracker does

The Multi Project Tracker & Gantt Chart is one spreadsheet with 11 tabs. It handles up to 25 projects and 300 tasks and milestones.

  • Two Gantt views: up to 52 weeks on one timeline, or 13 weeks with a column per work day. Filter by project or owner, or hide finished work.
  • Automatic status: not started, in progress, late, blocked or done. Late work turns coral and today is marked in gold.
  • Work days skip weekends and your holidays, and a dependency check warns you when a task starts before the one it depends on ends.
  • A dashboard with active projects, late or blocked tasks, what's due this week and milestones in the next 30 days.
  • A team workload heatmap that shows who is busy when over the next 12 weeks.
  • A status report for any project: what finished, what's next, what's late and the open risks, ready to paste into an email.

Plan on paper, track in the spreadsheet

Some parts of a project are easier to think through on paper: the one-page project brief, the RACI chart and the risks. The Project Management Template & RACI Planner covers those as printable and iPad pages. The Project Management Bundle includes both, plus meeting notes and a personal task manager, for less than buying them separately.
